The Orange County Camellia Society promotes the appreciation and culture of camellias in the greater Orange County, California area. Monthly meetings held during the camellia season (October-April) allow members to share their knowledge and enjoy talks by garden and camellia experts, and hands-on demonstrations. Meetings are open to the public and include a plant raffle. For more information on meetings and to view the meeting schedule, click on Meetings.

In Southern California there is a show almost every weekend from January-March where you can see some of the most beautiful flowers in person, and even enter your own. The Orange County Society sponsors the Sherman Gardens show which will be held held January 21st and 22nd, 2012 at Sherman Gardens, 2647 East Pacific Coast Highway Corona del Mar, CA 92625.  For information on other shows, click on Shows.

Whether you are new to camellias or a long-time camellia grower, you can find information and advice from some of our top-prize winning camellia growers from this and other local societies. Topics include how to select a place for and plant your new camellia, dormant and growing season fertilizing programs, pruning, gibbing, disbudding, discussion of soil and potting, and a list of recommended varieties for Orange County and where to purchase them. See a list of articles available by clicking Camellia Culture. Something you want to know about not covered? Send us an email, or attend one of our monthly meetings.
